My favorite MotoGP rider Sete Gibernau is back for the 2009 MotoGP after coming out of his retirement in 2006. Although I’m ecstatic that Sete’s back, he’s obviously lost a step, clocking 13th in Qatar and a DNF in Motegi. We’ve got a whole season to go, though, so things can definitely get better. This wow goldwhole business of coming back to the sport reminded me of players who have quit the game for one reason or the other. I mean, we’ve got pretty notable players like Phaelia and BigRedKitty who have put away their staves and guns in order to pursue other endeavors. It happens.
I got a message from an old friend this morning asking me if I still played WoW, saying that he might play again once he’s finished moving to his new pad. Just like Gibernau, who once declined an offer to continue to race, we also know players who have come back to play the game. What interests me, however, is everybody’s reason for coming back. Our GM, who quit midway through the Burning Crusade, was enticed by the promise of Wrath and became a total

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW Insider’s daily Q&A column where the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.
Today we’ll look at the pressing questions of Arthas’ relationship with you, Blizzard’s love affair with the Druidic traditions, and Quartermaster dis/sim-ilarities.
Jumper asked…
“Where do players fit into the story of the WoW? For example: Eventually players will be able to kill Arthas. How will that be written in the stories?”
Players are the heroes! Grab your sword and fight the Horde! I often find it helpful to think of players as the “reader” or the “third person”. You’re reading an epic story told via your game. Of course, that’s for events that unfold infront of you.
For events that you’re a part of, like the death of Illidan, you’re usually at the very end of the story. Illidan’s transformation from Malfy’s “good” brother to the evil tyrant he became is told in various stories. You know

Welcome to Lichborne, your (usually) weekly (I swear) source for Death Knight news and tips.
So now that Patch 3.1 is underway, the basic cookie cutter tank and DPS builds have begun emerging. The Patch 3.1 nerfs really haven’t slowed us down in any major way, and with dual specs in, we’re doing better than ever on the whole versatility front. In recognition of this, let’s give you some straight information, no chaser. Here’s a handful of cookie cutter DPS and Tank builds for each tree to get you on the right path to DPS or tanking dominance in Patch 3.1, or both if you’ve dropped that 1000 gold. All of these builds also included recommended glyphs at the link as well.
DPS
Unholy: This 0/10/61 DPS build is one of the top competitors for DPS and the one I’m personally sporting. While it may seem like sacrilige not to head into the Blood tree, the Unholy tree does enough shadow damage that Black Ice’s new shadow damage multiplier wins out. In addition, having 130 runic power comes in handy when you’re trying to unleash a Gargoyle and still

It’s 12:01 AM Pacific, which means that Noblegarden should now be live on all North American realms. Despite the fact that it’s the middle of the night, people are absolutely packed into the starting zones on my home realm, so don’t expect things will be easy just because it’s late!
Keep an eye on WoW Insider throughout the day, because we’re going to be covering the holiday as much as we can. Our own Allison Robert started that already yesterday evening with a special edition of The Overachiever, covering the achievements of Noblegarden. She also has a basic FAQ of the holiday up, should you need it.
A note to all of you bloggers out there, I plan to do a wow goldNoblegarden-themed special edition of The Daily Quest today as well. If you’ve written about the holiday and think our readers may be interested in what you have to say, send your link our way and we’ll take a look!

Listen up, this is very important stuff here.
When male Draenei logged on last night, they were greeted with some serious facial hair. No one is sure exactly what’s happened, and the only blue response is a reply asking for folks to post if they’re having the issue.
Now what I have to say next is the important part.
Who has the best ’stache pictured above?
To the left we have the timeless hunk of man meat Burt Reynolds, in the middle we have Virtual Sacco, and on the right sits the anchorman himself, Ron Burgundy. Vote and be heard! The results of the poll will matter more than you could ever know…

A previously unannounced relatively un-promoted feature is apparently going live in patch 3.1 today: buyback for “alternate currency” items. “Alternate currency” means any currency except gold – Emblems of Heroism, Arena Points, etc. According to Vaneras, when the patch goes live, you’ll have two hours after buying an item wow goldwith an alternate currency to sell it back and get a refund. I’ve never accidentally bought something with badges, but I know people who have, and it sucks; this is a nice fix.
A few caveats:
Stackable items (such as Frozen Orbs) are non-refundable.
Items that grant achievements are non-refundable.
Augments will not be returned – if you buy an item, enchant it, and then sell it back for badges, you don’t get your enchant mats back.
This only works one step back: If you buy a tier token for emblems, then exchange that tier token for a tier piece, you can trade the tier piece back for the token if you want. You can not, however, trade that token back for emblems after doing that.
Even with these limitations,

EU Blue Wryxian is once again patrolling the forums, dropping hints that patch 3.1 “is coming … soo … er … promptly.”
Through crystal-ball gazing, the application of logic and, in some cases, sheer desperation, the general consensus has been that the Secrets of Ulduar patch will be dropping this week.
Europe’s favourite Blue appeared on the forums this morning and left a carefully worded comment:
“The patch is definitely coming … shortly.
“The ’severe lack of info’ might simply be because we announced it, gave further details about it, put it up on the PTR for testing and now we are basically on the verge of releasing it.
“We certainly haven’t been quiet about it. It is coming. And it is coming … soo … er … promptly.”
Regardless, we should know one way or another in less than twenty four hours. So cross your fingers (and toes) for some extended downtime tomorrow!

I had originally intended to talk today about changes to protection in patch 3.1, especially since we’re coming closer and closer to it (I wouldn’t be surprised if it dropped this week) but then I actually stopped and thought about it, and honestly there’s really not all that much to talk about. Last Stand gets a reduced cooldown, which is good. Defensive Stance reduces the damage you do by 5% instead of 10%, which is also good. Glyph of Shield Wall will let you use Shield Wall every 3 minutes instead of every five (every 2 minutes with Improved Disciplines) which again, is nice. But none of this is going to change the way tanking works, so it seemed kind of odd to try and go in depth with so little to go in depth on. We could talk about how Deep Wounds will no longer gain bonuses from effects like the enrage from Improved Defensive Stance, but it still doesn`t change the fact that a lot of prot warriors are going to take Deep Wounds for the DoT when their Damage Shield, Cleave, Thunder Clap or even Shockwave crit. In the end, protection saw the absolute least changes

It’s a tough economy out there, and everyone’s looking for a stable job that won’t drive them nuts. Enter this kind fellow from Santa Barbara, California — he’s offering “fulltime” pay to someone willing to become a PvP guild director. Duties include picking up skilled new recruits, delivering summaries of what’s been going on in the guild, and keeping tabs on raid stats, guild banking, auctions, and so on. He’s got a three-box setup you can use when he’s not on it (hence, the money to burn), and while pay isn’t much at first, he does have plans in mind for a bonus schedule (if the guild gets three people in the top Arena rankings, you get a frozen turkey?).
Pretty wild, but as long as someone is willing to pay for something (and I know a lot of guild leaders who’d love to outsource their “jobs” if they had the cash), you can turn it into a real job. And who knows — putting “WoW Guild Director” on your resume might be really helpful. If you do get hired, be sure to let us know.

So among my full to bursting bags on all of my characters, one thing the high level ones pretty much all have is the Skyguard Drape (or the caster equivalent thereof). Even my Death Knight has enough skyguard reputation to have one. I figure if I ever I have some need to fall from a great height, I can just strap it on real quick and jump, and it will always be there just in case the opportune moment arrives.
But here’s the problem: I have never needed to use it. Not even once.
Yeah, I mean, in theory, it’s useful. But in practice, not so much. In Northrend and Outland, I don’t really need a right click slow fall to jump from high places, I can just fly my mount down. If I accidentally fall off my mount or a high place for some reason, the cape has to get through usual 30 second “I just equipped this” cooldown, so even if I equipped it right away, I’d be a pancake before I could use it. In theory, it would be useful if I equipped it ahead of time while flying, but all of my flight capable characters have epic flight and can easily outfly or otherwise
