Jason Burns points out, pretty insightfully, on his blog that of all the various options Blizzard lists for quitting the game, simply not having the time to play it isn’t one of them. Whenever you decide to cancel your subscription, you get a little survey to fill out, with two lists of options to explain why you’re leaving the game. In the past, we’ve found some pretty silly options in there (and actually, it looks like they’ve changed quite a bit since we posted about the Will of the Forsaken nerf on the list), but Jason says that as many varied and different reasons as there are for leaving, Blizzard didn’t include his: he likes the game, he just doesn’t have the time to play it and justify the subscription.
Which is what he eventually typed in. Like so many things with Blizzard, it would be fascinating to see the stats behind the information they’re getting here — do they see a little bump in quitters every time new patch notes come out? Is customer support really the biggest issue people have, or is harassment a major reason for people

Who remembers Echoes of War? A musical extravaganza originally released last year in legendary and standard editions from Eminence. Well both the official site and Worldofwar.net are reporting that the standard edition is being re-released on June 16th with new artwork.
The two-disc version is essentially the less shiny version of the limited Legendary Edition. It features music from all three of Blizzard’s franchises: Diablo, Warcraft and, of course, Starcraft, as played by the Eminence Symphony Orchestra and special guests including Kow Otani (best known for his score from PS2 game Shadow of the Colossus).
Even better, if you’ve not picked up the set yet then there’s a special $5 discount for orders made before the relaunch date next month, dropping the price from $24.95 to $19.95. Just head here to order. Copies begin shipping today and will also be made available through stores next month.

It’s Memorial Day in the United States, a time when we celebrate the memories of our fallen soldiers by visiting memorials, breaking out the BBQ grill, and jumping into all of the swimming pools opening for the summer around the country.
There’s a lot of interesting things that have happened the past few days here at WoW.com. Our new site is in full swing, and you can read about all the changes we’ve done.
One of the major additions to the site is the WoW.com profiles, which bring the famed social networking features right into WoW via our custom add-on. Check out what some of our users are already doing: Yamara34 just started up a brand new guild over on Proudmoore, and Mogri got lucky on the fishing daily.
A few major details about patch 3.2 were released on Friday, along with some clarification points by the blues. There is no indication when patch 3.2 will hit the PTR, but we’re on the lookout for it. With a new 5-man dungeon, and a new 10/25-man raid, it will be sure to make a splash.
In addition to the new dungeons, patch 3.2 will nerf Jewelcrafting a bit.

She’s gone from suck to blow! Morgwatt of <Two Silvers for Charon> on Bronzebeard recently experienced one of the natural hazards of the Eastern Plaguelands — a giant maggot attack. “While meditating upon a recent adventure in EPL, I was reminded as to why it is a good idea to do these things in the safety of an inn,” he wrote. I’ll also noted that Morgwatt’s 2v2 team name is “The Lee Atwaters”, which is one of the most awesome names I’ve seen in a long while.

Reader Ted T. asked for a good place to get started with Oxhorn videos. That’s a really tough call, because Oxhorn’s created so many different movies. But, I guess my favorite Oxhorn piece is the Oxhorn Brand Medley. (Moo Money actually first covered it about a year ago.)
Not only does it combine everything there is to love about Oxhorn machinima, it also expands his music in some interesting ways. When my fiancee and I first saw it, we spent all weekend singing its chorus over and over and over.
The chorus seems simple, but is actually rather difficult to belt out in tune and in time. “LOLOMGWTGDAIRYQUEEN” flies across the screen to help you know what Oxhorn’s singing, but getting it down corectly and reliably can be a challenge. The “Oxhorn Brand Medley” revisits and tips its hat to some of his best songs, but still manages to blend them all together in a convincing way.
While it might help if you’re familiar with Oxhorn’s many videos, you definitely don’t need to have seen them to enjoy the video. Take a few minutes, check it

Ryük of <Order of Valtiel> on Ravencrest writes in about a bug he and his guildmates experienced post-patch. “We had cleared Archavon 10 and the trash to Emalon when a Wintergrasp battle began, kicking us out of the instance. We decided to try and win Wintergrasp so that we could win and, against all odds on our hugely outnumbered server, Horde was victorious! We re-entered VoA to find Emalon and his adds untargetable and unable to react to our presence. So what did we do? Big Emalon Dance Party!?”

Upon patching and opening up WoW today, many players were greeted with the only marginally helpful message “Your video settings have changed.” The first question that leapt to my mind when I saw it was “what settings, and why?” It would have been nice to tell us that, I think.
Fortunately, Bornakk knows (I sometimes suspect he knows everything, with that manly beard of his). The answer is that the Projected Textures option, in Video Effects, now defaults to on. I assume players that had it turned off – like myself – had it turned on for us. What the option does is display things like the rune circles for Blizzard and Rain of Fire, which many players were confused to find disappear when patch 3.1 hit. So if you’re wondering what the change was, or wondering why you suddenly see spell details that you didn’t before, now you know.

Patch 3.1.2 was released today, and that means the Blizzard downloader will inevitably become clogged and congested tonight as millions of people around the world try to update their game to the latest version.
Our sister site Big Download has posted a patch mirror for us all, and you can head over there and grab the file to download. They are currently hosting both the PC and Mac versions, and we’ll have international versions up soon.
Stay tuned to WoW Insider for the latest on the patch, and what will hopefully be a smooth and bug free transition from 3.1.1.

In a stunning twist, we actually didn’t experience any catastrophic failures in regard to the BlizzCon ticket purchases yesterday morning. Any of you who were around for last year’s fiasco know why it’s so surprising! In fact, the only real issue we can think of is that there just weren’t enough tickets for all of us to buy this go-’round. Not even Matt “Matthew” “”Matticus”" “Low”, the Smartest Blogger, was bright enough to purchase extra tickets. Thankfully, half of eBay was, so we can still (defeated though we are) purchase them for a million dollars. Or we can wait two weeks.
So, what about you guys? Do you like the new ticket queue system? Did you get your BlizzCon tickets? If not, are you determinedly planning on trying again on the 30th, sulking about and eating pints of cookie dough ice cream until then, or swearing off WoW completely and running away to live in a convent? We should know! You should tell us!

BlizzCon tickets will be going on sale tomorrow, Saturday May 16th. While no specific time has been announced when they go on sale, there has been some conjecture. But it should be taken with a very small grain of salt.
WoW Insider will be up and running from 8am EDT onwards tomorrow, bringing you everything as it happens. This includes posting and twittering the moment the ticket sales go up.
For additional BlizzCon information, check out our recently released Guide to BlizzCon 2009. All the latest information will be kept there, and of course, right here on the main site when the news breaks.
And if there are any ticketing problems… well, we’ll be covering that too. Here’s hoping for the best.
